As a 28-year-old living with cystic fibrosis I’ve spent countless hours since my childhood doing chest physical therapy and consider myself a self-trained expert on the subject. In my line up of defense against my daily respiratory congestion I have found a new big-league starter – the Electro Flo 5000 percussor. It delivers the exact punch as the FLUID FLO pneumatic model, which is what the therapists use at the hospital, and it glides just as smoothly. Even though it is portable, the 5000 model gives nothing away in terms of efficiency and effectiveness.
In my daily routine, I have integrated the percussor 15 minutes twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, while breathing an aerosol mixture of hyper tonic saline and Albuterol. That, coupled with a regular 15 minute midday IPV treatment will equal 45 minutes of calculated daily CPT.
